The young ladies who play this sport that we love so much are among the toughest, hardest working athletes you will find. The true "player" never gives less than 100%, loves the game and always wants to do her best.
Among the hard working players, none has to work harder than the windmill pitcher. If you ask the best, they will say it takes a month to make up for taking off a week. They feel they lose speed, control, and movement when they don't practice.
In my many years of coaching and teaching pitching, my students have given me many hours of fun as I watched them perform what they spent so many hours practicing. I have celebrated with them when they have succeeded and felt bad for them when things didn't go so well.
It is during these times that I recognize the time spent, the money spent, the  sacrifices by the girls and the parents just so they can stand in the circle and do what they do.
